– 4-6 apples, cored, peeled and chopped
– 1 lemon
– 1/4 cup of water (or less!)
– ground cinnamon, to taste
– 2 tbsp. raisins (optional)
Cut, core and peel the apples.
Place the apple pieces, a little bit of water* and lemon juice in a big sauce pan into a medium heat (or less) and cover.
*Add just a little water because the idea is cooking the apples with their own juice!
Add raisins (if you want raisins) and cook for 10 minutes or until puree. Stir occasionally.
Add cinnamon if you wish. Cinnamon goes perfect with fruits and it’s one of the greatest anti-inflammatory spices.
If you choose red apples, your apple sauce is going to be sweet.
If you choose green apples, your apple sauce is going to be a little sour.
You can mix all kind of apples to get a sour-sweet apple sauce!
Keep your delicious apple sauce in a covered glass container in the fridge for a few days.
